Taking a significant step toward boosting the faculty's expertise in emerging technologies, KL University, in association with Infosys, has launched a Faculty Development Program (FDP). This four-day-long program is hosted at its Andhra Pradesh campus, focusing on “Generative AI and Deep Learning”.

The program will run from July 8-11, 2025, aiming to equip faculty members with a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic Artificial Intelligence landscape. The focus is laid on both conceptual knowledge and hands-on application.

Delivered by seasoned Infosys technologists Mr. Amal Saleelan and Mr. M.K. Abid, the sessions are divided into two intensive tracks:

• Generative AI: Covering foundational models, ethical frameworks, key tools, and its growing influence across industries.
  
  
• Deep Learning: Learning of neural networks, deployment strategies, and practical use cases in business and research.
  
  

The program was formally inaugurated by Dr. A. Srinath, Dean of Skill Development, alongside Vice Chancellor Dr. G.P.S. Varma and other senior university officials. In his opening remarks, Dr. Varma emphasized the importance of faculty upskilling in AI to maintain educational relevance in an increasingly digital world.

This program reflects a growing trend in academia-industry partnerships that aim at addressing the national shortage of AI skills. Further, as a broader vision, KL University continues to lead efforts in integrating frontier technologies into its curriculum and pedagogy. Thus, solidifying its standing among the top universities in South India.
