I’ve used my fair share of webinar tools, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned—it’s that not all platforms are created equal.

When you're setting up a webinar, the last thing you want is a clunky interface or glitchy video halfway through your session. It’s frustrating for you and your audience. A good platform should just work—simple as that.

For me, it starts with the basics: clean video quality (ideally HD), an easy-to-navigate dashboard, and stable performance. You should be able to share your screen, run a poll, or drop a link in chat without digging through ten menus.

But here’s where it gets interesting. A great platform goes beyond the live session. It lets you customize your branding, collect real data on who attended, integrate with your email tools, and even repurpose the webinar for later use. That last part is huge—why run a one-time event when you can turn it into an on-demand video, clips for social, or part of your email funnel?

Also, depending on your goals, you might want features like lead capture forms or built-in landing pages. Some webinar platforms even help promote your events, which is a big plus if you don’t have a big team behind you.

At the end of the day, the “right” platform is the one that fits how you work. So think about what matters most—ease of use, integrations, support, marketing tools—and go from there.

That’s what’s worked for me, anyway.
