39 students from KL University’s Department of Arts recently visited the Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) Station in Machilipatnam, Government of India. The visit gave the students an opportunity to see how meteorological technology works in real time, and connect it with what they were taught in class.

During the visit, students observed how the Doppler Weather Radar captures, processes, and analyzes atmospheric data. They learned how this technology helps create weather forecasts and alerts, especially during extreme weather conditions or changing climates.

The experience showed students that meteorology is not just about predicting weather, it also plays an important role in public safety, disaster management, agriculture planning, and community preparedness.

Students also gained insight into science and technology’s role in our daily lives. Witnessing the real-world impact of weather updates helped them understand the importance of accurate information for decision-making. The visit highlighted how different fields, environmental science, technology, and communication, work together to serve society.

Through such initiatives, the university continues to provide practical learning experiences, reinforcing its reputation as one of the top universities in Vijayawada.

KL University sincerely thanks the Government of Andhra Pradesh for hosting the students at the radar station.
