DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Algedra announces the completion of the architectural design and fit-out for the new Meat Moot flagship in JBR. This project defines a rigorous visual identity through raw materiality and high-contrast textures. Algedra worked alongside Capital Associated Building Contracting to construct this 500-square-meter dining space.
The interior introduces a polished, industrial aesthetic. Large-format 1200mm x 600mm porcelain tiles form the foundation. These stone-effect tiles display deep charcoal tones with white calcite veining, creating a glossy contrast to the matte surroundings. The wall design prioritizes textural layering by placing charcoal-gray clinker bricks with recessed mortar joints next to natural oak wood cladding. This combination establishes a rhythmic pattern between cool masonry and warm timber.
An open-plenum design defines the ceiling, treated with a uniform matte black anti-corrosive finish. This method reveals the galvanized HVAC ductwork and electrical conduits. The fire suppression system, finished in RAL 3000 red, operates as a bold color accent within the overhead structure.
The lighting scheme uses a tiered approach to shape the volume. Brass molecular chandeliers with frosted G9 LED globes offer the primary decorative layer, distributing a warm glow throughout the dining halls. Black cylindrical track-mounted spotlights and integrated 3000K LED strips in the wood-slat service counters enhance the visual depth.
Furniture choices uphold the cognac-and-charcoal color palette. Custom armchairs display walnut-finished bentwood frames and full-grain cognac leather upholstery. The tables combine 30mm live-edge acacia wood slabs and light gray engineered quartz tops on matte black sand-textured steel pedestals.
Algedra included specific architectural features to amplify the brand's identity. A "cleaver wall" presents recessed, backlit niches that showcase silhouettes of professional butcher knives against sandblasted acrylic. The kitchen acts as a central focal point, encased in low-iron tempered glass with black powder-coated steel headers, allowing diners to view the industrial-scale black smokers.
The facade links the interior to the JBR promenade via tall, arched glazing with anodized aluminum frames. A hand-painted mural on a cementitious plaster wall illustrates a chef’s hands seasoning meat, establishing a clear street-level presence.
