Description

WavToMP3 converts WAV files to MP3 right in your browser. The audio never leaves your device — there's no server upload, no account, and no software to install. You drop in a WAV file, pick a quality setting, and download the MP3.

The main reason to use it is size. WAV files are usually uncompressed and large, which makes them awkward to email, share, or upload. Converting to MP3 shrinks them a lot, and you choose how much detail to keep: 128 kbps for speech and interviews, 192 kbps for everyday listening, 256 kbps for music, or 320 kbps for the highest MP3 quality. You can also set channels and sample rate.

Because everything happens locally, there's no upload wait — conversion starts right away, and speed just depends on your browser and device. It works on Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android, so large files on older phones may take a bit longer.

It's straightforward about the tradeoff: MP3 is lossy, so it won't preserve every detail of the original WAV. The advice is simple — keep the WAV for editing or mastering, make an MP3 copy for listening and sharing.
