Description

I thought I had seen everything in the world of live shows. Seriously, after thousands of hours on Crazy Time, Monopoly Live and other "wheels", it seemed like the industry had simply stopped. Well, another wheel. Another bonus with a coin flip. I became a real gaming skeptic. Until I started hearing this buzz in every chat, on every forum... "Funky Time". At first I brushed it off, saying it was another flashy reskin. But curiosity got the better of me. I started looking into what it was all about, and my first stop was, where I found reviews and rules. And I have to say, I was not prepared for how much of a breath of fresh air it was. Evolution seems to have done it again, but this time they turned on the disco ball at full blast and simply destroyed all the competitors.

As soon as you start the game, you understand: this is not just "another show". This is the atmosphere.

Atmosphere: Welcome to the 70s

The first thing that strikes you is the style. Evolution has moved away from the chaotic circus of "Crazy Time" and plunged into the disco era. It's glitz, it's soul, it's funk. The studio looks like an elite 70s nightclub. The hosts wear Afro wigs, shiny suits, and they're constantly dancing. The music is not just a jingle, it's a full-fledged funk soundtrack.

I'm honestly not a 70s fan, but it works. It instantly creates a party mood. You're not just here to "spin"; you're here to have fun. This is the first and perhaps most important psychological hook I've ever caught.

The main game: The DIGI wheel is not just a wheel

The game is based on a giant "DIGI wheel". And here's the first innovation. It's not just a physical wheel with sectors. This is a dynamic design where the sectors can change. Yes, the basis is numbers (mostly "1") and bonus sectors. But unlike Crazy Time, where most of the wheel is boring numbers, here a huge number of sectors are given over to bonuses.

It seems that the developers heard the main complaint of players: "We are tired of waiting for a bonus for hours!". In Funky Time, bonuses fall out much more often. And what bonuses are they...

Bonus rounds: Here is where the real magic is

This is what we are here for. In Funky Time, there are not just "a few bonuses". These are four full-fledged, unique games, each with its own mechanics.

1. "Bar" Bonus This is the most common bonus. It takes you to a stylish virtual bar of the 70s. Behind the counter stands a robot bartender in a shiny vest. He offers you to choose one of three "cocktails". Each cocktail hides a random multiplier. This is basically a classic Pick-one bonus, but with a stylish twist! It's a quick, fun way to get x10-x50 and get back to playing.

2. Stayin' Alive Bonus The name speaks for itself (hello Bee Gees!). This is a survival game with a bingo-like lottery machine. You have three "lives". You start at the bottom of the multiplier ladder. Different colored balls fall out. Colored ball - you move up a step (where the multipliers increase). Black ball - you lose one life. The goal is to get as high as possible before your lives run out. It's such a tense round! You just pray that you don't get a black one.

3. Disco Bonus This is my personal favorite, and this is where Evolution really showed what they are capable of. The action is transferred to a huge virtual dance floor, glowing like in "Saturday Night Fever". A character, Mr. Funk, appears and starts dancing. The host spins a mini-wheel that determines in which direction Mr. Funk will move on the dance floor. Each cell he stands on is a multiplier. But the trick is that "disco balls" fly around the edges of the field - these are additional multipliers that accumulate. It's so fun and dynamic, you feel like you're playing an arcade game.

4. Bonus "VIP Disco Party" This is the same "Holy Grail". Rare, but with crazy potential. This is, in fact, an enhanced version of "Disco", but on an exclusive VIP dance floor. Here the base multipliers are much higher, and disco ball multipliers just fall from the sky. This is where the same "screenshots" with x5000 or x10000 wins happen. When this bonus drops, the chat just explodes.

Why is it better than the "old guard"?

I played Funky Time for a few evenings and made a clear conclusion for myself.

Bonus frequency: The game is designed so that you don't get bored. Bonuses drop out much more often than in Crazy Time.

Atmosphere: "Circus" is fun, but "disco party" is stylish. Funky Time is simply more pleasant for the eyes and ears.

Innovations: "Disco" and "Stayin' Alive" bonuses are not just "flip a coin" or "put a puck". These are full-fledged mini-games.

Evolution didn't just reskin it. They took everything we loved about Crazy Time (big multipliers, variety) and fixed everything we hated (boring base game, endless wait for bonus).

So if you, like me, are a little tired of the "old guard" and are looking for something that can really surprise and entertain you, give Funky Time a try. This is the party you've been waiting for. In my opinion, it's the undisputed new king of live shows.
