Description

RealWorth.io is a free set of visual tools for understanding money. Most money calculators give you one number and stop. RealWorth.io adds the context that makes the number mean something.

The core is a historical inflation calculator for 6 countries (USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, Japan) going back to 1750, built on official CPI data from the BLS, Bank of England, Destatis, INSEE, Statistics Canada, and Japan’s Statistics Bureau. Beyond today’s value, it shows what a sum meant at the time: weeks of an average wage, loaves of bread, months of rent.

The newest tool is the Global Income Rank Calculator. Enter your income and household size, and it shows your global percentile adjusted for local purchasing power, based on World Bank 2024 distribution data. You can see your place in two views: a pyramid where each dot is about a million people, or a full income distribution curve. It also shows how the same income ranks in each world region. The calculation runs in your browser, so your income never leaves your device.

Other tools include How Big Is a Billion Dollars (a billion turned into a road of $100 bills), Anatomy of a $100 Bill, the Money Flow Map of global remittances with a live counter, and the Historical Rich-O-Meter for historical salary rank.

It’s free, with no signup and no paywall. Built and maintained by one independent developer.
